Advent

So I committed to celebrating the Advent every day this month. Since I am big on accountability these days, I will chronicle all of my remembrances:

  • Sat. Dec. 1: Well...I came up with the idea to do this, so that counts as something, I think.
  • Sun, Dec. 2: I was a little tired today, but our church asked for volunteers to help decorate the church for Christmas. So, I stayed after the service to help.  It wasn't a big sacrifice, but I felt like the combination of decorating along with working next to my church family was a way to celebrate the real reason of Advent...giving a little of yourself, building relationships with brothers and sisters, fellowshiping over pizza.... I felt that was a sincere celebration of Christ's Advent.
  • Mon, Dec. 3: James and I started a Christmas devotional today, and the theme is to see Christmas with new eyes. I'm excited to see how God reveals Himself in this.
  • Wed. Dec. 5: I listened to KLove Christmas Music Station at work (my second job). It felt great to be listening to CHRISTIAN Christmas music in a secular environment.  And I even saw George, the IT guy, tapping his foot...
  • Thurs, Dec. 6: I took the long way home tonight so I could see the decorations in Port Jeff while listening to Christmas music.
